Serip Unveils New Works of Art from the Origem, Calathea and Dandelion Collection at Feria Hábitat València 2024

Serip, an historical Portuguese company and a household name specialized in the craft of artistic sculptures inspired by Nature and its organic elements is set to unveil its latest masterpieces at Feria Hábitat València 2024. The event will feature the newest additions from the celebrated Origem Collection, alongside stunning new masterpieces from the iconic Dandelion Collection and three new creations of Calathea Collection.

Resilience Born from Chaos

The Origem, the word says it all. Inspired by Nature’s response to adversity, highlights its resilience in the face of chaos and darkness, revealing the inherent beauty that emerges from destruction, illuminating what lies within and transforming uncertainty into opportunities for growth and renewal. This collection celebrates the origin and creation of life, highlighting the embrace of new beginnings and the start of the next chapter with hope and determination.

This year, Serip is thrilled to unveil new creations from the Origem Collection, introducing breathtaking ceiling lamps and magnificent wall fixtures. These pieces elevate the collection, embodying our passion for capturing the timeless beauty of Estremoz marble. Each creation stands as a bridge between past and present, illuminating spaces with elegance and inspiration.

The designer, Daniela Ferreira, explains: “With the Origem Collection, we aimed to elevate Estremoz marble beyond its physicality, using it as a bridge between epochs. This noble stone connects Portugal’s rich past with the present, symbolizing resilience and the enduring spirit of its people. Each piece is a tribute to this legacy, a testament to timeless beauty waiting to be embraced.”

Imagine holding history in the palm of your hand—the story of Estremoz marble, a noble stone steeped in Portugal’s heritage. Found exclusively in the enchanting region of Estremoz, this exceptional marble carries echoes of centuries past, from pre-historic times to Roman, Visigoth, and Muslim occupations. Renowned for its fine to medium grain and a spectrum of colors—white, cream, pink, and grey—Estremoz marble embodies Portugal’s natural richness. Each hue tells a different chapter of the land’s narrative, with a unique translucency that allows glimpses between light and dark.

“Origem is a celebration of life’s resilience and the enduring beauty of nature,” says Daniela. “Through this collection, we seek to inspire a deeper appreciation for the transformative power of chaos and the boundless creativity of life itself. With Origem, we invite you to embrace the improbable, to find beauty in the unexpected, and to embark on a journey of renewal and discovery.”

A Dance Between Rawness and Grace

Emanating luxury and sophistication, the new creations from the Dandelion Collection embody the artistry and craftsmanship that define Serip. They showcase our commitment to creating pieces that are not only visually stunning but also deeply impactful, enchanting all who behold them and leaving an indelible impression of splendor and elegance.

These new versions of the Dandelion Shelter are true works of art. With majestic leaves that seamlessly blend glass and cast materials, they twist and intertwine to cast mesmerizing patterns of light and shadow. This interplay of contrasts perfectly captures the Dandelion Collection’s unique duality—where rawness harmonizes with refinement, and power melds with grace.

Beyond the bounds of imagination, Bruno Matos, the designer, brings yet another extraordinary masterpiece to Valencia. This new creation, featuring three Dandelion white, fluffy phases, hovers with an ethereal grace, as if suspended in a moment of divine beauty. It transcends mere words, radiating an unparalleled light explosion that profoundly touches the soul. The impact is overwhelming, creating an atmosphere of warmth and enchantment that draws people into its captivating glow and transforms the entire environment into a scene of breathtaking magic.

“The Dandelion Collection is a celebration of life’s cyclical nature,” shares Bruno Matos. “Each element of this collection captures the essence of transformation, where endings become new beginnings, symbolizing a harmonious balance between strength and grace. This latest creation, in particular, stands as a tribute to the perpetual cycle of life and the beauty found in change.”

The brilliance of these new pieces is unmatched. Their radiance evokes awe and wonder, setting the tone for the entire exhibition. With their commanding presence and captivating design, these masterpieces from the Dandelion Collection are set to be highlights of the exhibition, leaving an unforgettable impression on all who experience their beauty.

Nature’s Beauty with a Modern Twist

Looking toward our stunning Calathea Collection, which celebrates nature’s beauty and the beacon of light that leads us toward inner balance and harmony, we gave life to new pieces that embody this majestic plant in every detail. Representing the Calathea’s slow yet victorious growth from the earth, the new designs reflect the subtle and gracious movements of its leaves as they twist and fold, finding their place among each other, while the trunk winds upward, dancing with the environment.

These new creations also explore the concept of growth from the ceiling, as if the Calathea is born from above, expanding outward in a breathtaking display of intersecting leaves that billow and entwine. The contrast between the glass leaves and cast elements brings a stunning play of light and material, highlighting the gracefulness of the plant’s growth.

Inspired by nature’s delicate interplay between light and form, the Calathea Collection has been reimagined with a contemporary twist. This fresh perspective introduces sleek, illuminated tubular forms that weave through the leaves, creating a sculptural dance that mirrors the natural flow of life. The design breathes new life into the leaves, which seem to embrace and intertwine with one another, forming a continuous circular movement. The designer, Miguel Palma, has skillfully blended contemporary elements with the Calathea Collection’s graceful essence, infusing it with a modern twist that sets it apart. This inventive combination transformed the classic elegance of the collection into a strikingly original design, where the interplay of traditional beauty and modern innovation creates a truly unique piece.
